A parallel kinematic machine takes advantage on actuators working side by side and thus sharing loads and minimizing propagation of accuracy errors and flexibility through the structure.
The Cognibotics PKM solution is based on the end-effector connected to the base through a set of lightweight rods which forms a tripod structure. Such structure is much stronger than a solid beam of the same extension and weight.
Such structure is statically determinate which, in combination with Cognibotics calibration and motion control, opens up possibilities for very easy mounting and assembly of the machine, with no complex alignment procedures required.
